I’m already aware that a PortableApps version of Firefox exists. My problem is that a lag problem also exists because of the read/writes that take place inherent in the browser code. I disabled practically every extension and the thing still acts up. The only solution is to buy a faster USB or switch to a mini-HD, which either way seems ridiculous.

(A possible compromise until the problem is fixed is to modify FirefoxPortable so it runs locally on the machine for as long as you run the program. It’s less secure that way but otherwise you get to deal with the choppy performance.)

The current early release version of Firefox 3 is a lot better but I think they’ve still got some work to do.

- Tabs should be selectable for opening in a whole new window or tab-group
- A menu should be placed on the tab-bar that lists all active tab-groups (would allow for switching without erasing information like draft emails)

Firefox should be able to block Flash audio just like it blocks pop-ups. Users should be able to unblock the audio just once, or always for the site (again just like with pop-ups). An icon in each tab could indicate the status of the audio, and control if it’s blocked or not.
